Who is WBOCI?
The mission of Warm Blankets Orphan Care International is to restore the lives of orphans and widows in partnership with individuals, churches, corporations, and organizations. Our vision is to fulfill the Great Commission through indigenous churches who disciple, baptize, and teach orphans, widows and community members to live for Jesus Christ.
Genocide, war, natural disasters, and disease have left millions of orphans and unaccompanied children alone and defenseless. Warm Blankets Orphan Care International rescues children from refugee camps, dumps, roaming the streets…and worse. They provide emergency care and stability while trying to locate relatives with whom the children can be reunited whenever possible. If a child does not have family, they are welcomed into a church orphan home.
Our Orphan Care Team partners with Warm Blankets Orphan Care International to welcome orphans into the security of a church orphan home where they find the compassion and unconditional love of family. Every orphan home is also a church for the community. The pastor and his wife become like a mother and father to the children. The other care-givers are usually widows who also need provision and care. The family bonds form quickly helping both the orphans and widows heal since they understand each other’s loss and grief. Through our monthly support we help to restore childhoods and change lives. We believe that these children will be leaders in transforming their generation…one life at a time.
